Tangmarg play grounds to be named after brave martyrs soon: Minster Satish Sharma

Tangmarg, Oct 29 (KNS): Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, on Wednesday visited several areas of Tangmarg constituency, where he inaugurated multiple projects aimed at upgrading sports infrastructure and encouraging youth participation in physical activities.

During the visit, Sharma inaugurated new bathroom facilities, seating arrangements, and other sports-related amenities, marking a significant step toward improving local sporting infrastructure.

He interacted with residents, young players, and officials, assuring them that the government is committed to promoting a vibrant sports culture across Jammu and Kashmir.

“The martyrs hold the greatest honour,” he said. “We will name these play grounds after them to pay tribute to their sacrifice and to inspire our youth with their legacy.”

The minister emphasized that sports not only promote physical fitness but also nurture discipline, unity, and teamwork among young people.

He added that the administration is making focused efforts to ensure that every district, particularly rural areas like Tangmarg, gets access to modern and inclusive sports facilities.

Local residents and athletes expressed gratitude for the minister’s visit, saying such initiatives would help nurture local talent and place Tangmarg firmly on the sports map of Jammu and Kashmir.(KNS)
