Tourism Growth Hinges on Responsible Practices, Cooperation: CEO PDA Tariq Hussain


Srinagar, July 12 (KNS): Chief Executive Officer Pahalgam Development Authority Tariq Hussain on Friday said that there is the need for responsible practices and cooperation among stakeholders to boost tourism in Kashmir.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) on sidelines of Tourism Stakeholders conference at Institute of hotel management Rajbagh, Tariq outlined the strategies for sustainable tourism and highlighted the role of all stakeholders in enhancing the Kashmir valley's tourism industry.

"Tourism is driven by cooperation. As long as stakeholders behave responsibly, the Department of Tourism will also act responsibly. The tourists should receive proper care and attention," Tariq said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He further stressed that tourism involves various sectors, including employment, hospitality, and adventure tourism, all of which require a unified and strategic approach.

Acknowledging the critical importance of tourism for the local population, Tariq said that there is need for preserving destinations and boosting a hospitable environment for tourists.

"Our youth is already aware, but continuous programs at the destination level are important for capacity building and human resource management," he added.

He concluded by expressing hope that such initiatives would continue, benefiting all stakeholders and service providers involved in the tourism industry.(KNS)
