Srinagar, 11 Sept: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Friday paid glowing tributes to martyr Mushtaq Ahmad Lone on his 24th death anniversary at Lolab Sogam, where floral tributes were offered and Fateh Khwani was held at his grave.

Senior party leader, District President Kupwara and MLA Lolab Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, former DDC Lolab Nasir Lone, block presidents, local party functionaries and prominent citizens participated in the programme.

Later, a commemorative function was organised at Lone Manzil, Sogam, where rich tributes were paid to the late leader and his contributions in the social, political and religious spheres were recalled.

Addressing the gathering, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone said that Lone Sahib was a distinguished lawyer, a noble and soft-spoken person who discharged his duties and public responsibilities with utmost honesty and dedication. He said the deceased leader’s unforgettable and commendable political and social services would continue to serve as a source of inspiration.

He described Lone Sahib as a devout Muslim and a patriot, adding that his martyrdom was a major loss for the National Conference, a loss that could never be fully compensated.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Qaiser Jamsheed Lone said that the best tribute to Lone Sahib would be to further strengthen the National Conference, which, he said, was the only political organisation representing the sentiments and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and capable of safeguarding their interests.

He urged party workers to remain prepared to face the challenges ahead and work with dedication.

Meanwhile, a commemorative meeting was held at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of General Secretary Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar. The gathering paid rich tributes to the late leader and recalled his valuable contributions to the party and public life.

Provincial President Advocate Showkat Ahmad Mir also highlighted the noble qualities and services of the deceased leader. Provincial Secretary Syed Touqeer Ahmad and Srinagar District President Pir Afaq Ahmad were also present on the occasion.(KNS)
