Srinagar, Oct 10(KNS): Two local terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-i-Toiba were killed in a firefight in the Ashipora area of South Kashmir's Shopian district, Police said here on Tuesday.
Quoting Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar, The Kashmir Zone Police said that the killed terrorists have been identified as Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq, also known as Abrar, associated with the LeT terrorists group. "Terrorist Abrar was involved in the killing of the Kashmiri Pandit, late Sanjay Sharma," it said.

Meanwhile the the army spokesperson said that a Joint Operation was launched by Indian Army, JmuKmrPolice & Int agencies, on the intervening night of 09-10 Oct on specific intelligence inputs regarding presence of terrorists in general area Alishahpur, Shopian.
It said that the area was cordoned & search conducted, resulting in a fire fight. "02xTerrorists have been eliminated along with recovery of 02xAK Rifles, 01xPistol & other war-like stores," the army said, adding that the operations in progress(KNS).
