Pahalgam, July 19 (KNS): Rafi Ahmad Mir, former MLA Pahalgam and General Secretary of J&K Apni Party addressed a workers convention at Sallar Pahalgam. Mir demanded that government of India must subscribe to democratic traditions in day today government business. Mir said “ The arbitrary imposition of laws in Jammu and Kashmir threatens to alienate the youth”.
Speaking at a workers' convention in Sallar Pahalgam, Mir emphasized the paramountcy of respecting the people’s verdict and restoring democracy through adherence to democratic traditions rather than unilateral lawmaking.

Urging for unity among all political parties beyond mere rhetoric to protect the rights of the people, Mir cautioned that focusing solely on developmental aspect of politics overlooks deep-seated sentiments, warning that recent measures empowering the Lieutenant Governor and systematic disempowerment of people could adversely impact the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mir underscored the necessity for a united political front to ensure the welfare of the people, emphasizing that result oriented efforts are essential to address political aspirations of the people and safeguard the residual rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.(KNS)
