Jammu, Oct 24 (KNS) : A volleyball tournament under the Civic Action Programme-2025-26 was held by JKAP 8th Battalion, Miran Sahib Jammu at the Battalion Headquarters. The event is being organized under the supervision of Suram Singh, JKPS (SSP), Commandant JKAP 8th Battalion.
According to a Press Relaese issued ,The Inaugural match was played between Government Degree College R.S. Pura and Simbal Volleyball Club. While speaking at the inaugural function, the Commandant highlighted the role of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in developing cordial relations and bridging the gap between the Police and the Public.
He further emphasized the role of sports in character building and in keeping the youth away from social evils. Commandant Suram Singh encouraged the participants to actively take part in such constructive activities and assured that the Police Department will continue to organize similar events in the future under the Civic Action Programme.
The participants and other respectable citizens appreciated the efforts of JKAP 8th Battalion for providing a platform to engage youth through sports. On the first day of the tournament, the match was witnessed by a huge gathering, and the public applauded the commitment of the J&K Police, particularly JKAP 8th Battalion, for promoting sports culture among the youth of the area.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The programme was conducted in a cordial and disciplined manner, reflecting the spirit of unity and cooperation between the police and the public. At the end of the first day, the players were awarded individual certificates. The matches of the tournament will continue on a regular basis and will culminate in the first week of November 2025. The tournament is being held for both boys and girls.
The officers of the Battalion, including Chanderjeet Singh, SSP (Dy. CO), Bhupinder Singh, DySP, Om Prakash, DySP, Tilak Raj, DySP, and Prabhu Dayal, DySP, also played an active role in making the event successful.
In addition, several prominent personalities of the locality also witnessed the event, including principals, managers, and coaches of schools — Rajeev Sharma (PPS Miran Sahib Jammu), Shamali Ji (Mother India Secondary School R.S. Pura), Gurmeet Singh (Government Boys High School Kotli Shah Doula), Gurjeet Singh (Army Public School Miran Sahib), Manmeet Singh (Simbal Volleyball Club), Shubam Mehta (J&K Public School Kunjwani), and Rupali Salathia (Government Degree College R.S.
