Srinagar, Nov 07(KNS): Several water channels in South Kashmir's Anantnag district including Lidder Nallah, Jehlum Vashow Nallah, and Arapath, are facing environmental challenges, with a noticeable decline in trout fish populations.
Concerns have been raised about the lack of action from the Fisheries Department to address these issues.
Locals told the Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the Fisheries Department employees, including inspectors and fisheries guards, have not been transferred for over eight years, which has contributed to the neglect of these vital water bodies.
A recent incident highlighted the issue when trout fish culture along the Sakhras Nallah was damaged due to construction activities in the area, leading to significant financial losses for the Fisheries Department.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
