Srinagar, Dec 04 (KNS): Giving forces a slip, Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza today visited Dooru to pay tributes to Sajad Ahmad Malik of Dooru who was martyred by forces on Thursday evening in a fake encounter.
According to a statement issued to KNS, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza visited the native village and family of martyr and expressed sympathy with the family and assured possible help.
He also conveyed the condelence message of All Parties Hurriyat Confrence to the family and held special prayers for the martyr Sajad Ahmad Malik.
On the occasion, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza termed the killing of Sajad Ahmad Malik a judicial killing and demanded a fair probe. He said that slain Malik was a true freedom fighter who played vital role in the ongoing intifada.
He said that Martyr Sajad spent seven years in Jail and braved the worst kind of torture during detention. “There is no doubt that martyr Malik spent some time with a Pro-Indian political party just to save himself from the oppression but he was true freedom lover whose contribution can’t be overlooked and ignored,” he added.
Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that Malik was killed by forces under a well planned strategy. Expressing satisfaction over the willingness of Iran to mediate the dialogue process between India and Pakistan, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that World powers including Iran have to play key role in resolving the vexed Kashmir Issue.
He said that Iran, US and other world powers must together prioritize the peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute. “US President-elect Donald Trump has to play an effective play in resolving vexed Kashmir dispute,” he said, adding Kashmiris like other oppressed nations deserve world community’s attention and help.
“Kashmiris are being killed, blinded, tortured, humiliated, oppressed and suppressed from last over seven decades just for demanding political rights including right to self determination but unfortunately International community which is duty bound to help Kashmiris, never paid any attention,” he added.
Urging India to initiate Confidence Building Measures for resuming dialogue with all stake holders of Kashmir dispute, Waza said that military oppression and suppression can’t muzzle the ongoing movement; however, he said will strength peoples determination towards the movement. (KNS)
