We will bring permanent solution to Kashmir floods: Javid Rana

Srinagar, Aug 28 (KNS): Cabinet Minister Javid Rana on Thursday said the government is closely monitoring the flood situation in Jammu and Kashmir and assured that efforts are being made to find a permanent solution to the problem.

According to KNS, Rana said that the Chief Minister personally reviewed the situation in Jammu and gave detailed instructions for relief and rehabilitation. "Our advisor and the entire department have been monitoring the situation in Kashmir since yesterday, and God willing, we will bring a permanent solution.”

He appealed to people to remain careful and extend cooperation to the government and administration during this difficult time. “Cooperation is important. The government is committed to protecting people, and Kashmir will not be allowed to suffer repeatedly from such disasters,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The minister added that while heavy rains have triggered floods and caused damage, the administration has acted swiftly to minimise losses. “In the past, rains used to last for many days but there were no floods. What we are seeing now is the result of neglect and destruction in recent years. Even our Jhelum river has suffered,” he said.

Rana said that while issues like mining and environmental degradation have worsened the situation, the priority of the government is to safeguard lives and provide long-term protection. “We are hopeful that a permanent solution will be implemented for the people of Kashmir,” he said.(KNS)
