Karnah Dec 28:(KNS) The Kupwara administration has taken significant steps to assist passengers stranded in border areas due to heavy snowfall. As announced in a circular by the District Development Commissioner, temporary shelters have been set up at High Secondary School Panzgam, High School Melyal, and High Secondary School Kalaroos to provide relief to travelers from Karnah, Keran, and Machil. These shelters aim to offer immediate assistance during travel disruptions caused by extreme weather conditions.
While speaking with Kashmir News Service (KNS), Kupwara Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan highlighted the importance of these measures in the face of challenging winter conditions.

The administration has also set up contact points for passengers in need of assistance: Zahoor Ahmad at Panzgam (7006891849), Ali Mohammad at Melyal (7298336572), and Abdul Rashid Lone at Kalaroos (8899058911).
