Srinagar, Sept 2 (KNS): National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said Jammu and Kashmir was passing through “tough times” and asserted that his party would never bow before the Centre until its promises, including the restoration of statehood, are fulfilled.

Speaking to reporters after the party’s protest in Srinagar, Abdullah said the Centre had promised to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir but had yet to deliver on that commitment or notify the business rules.

Abdullah also criticized those in Jammu and Kashmir who supported the abrogation of Article 370, saying they would one day be answerable to the Almighty.

Referring to the protest, he said it was a message that the people would no longer remain silent.

“Today we showed them that we will not remain silent anymore. We will never bow our heads to the Centre,” Abdullah said.(KNS).
