Won't Sever Ties with Kashmir After Retirement: Former DGP R R Swain

Srinagar, October 1 (KNS): Expressing his desire to give back to the region that has shaped much of his professional life, Former Director General of Police R R Swain on Monday said that his connection with J&K won’t end with his official tenure.

Speaking to Editor Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mohd Aslam, Swain said he has served with complete dedication to make people's lives better and he will always cherish the special bond with J&K.

"How can I take J&K's pension every month and say I don't have any connection?" he said, adding that he will continue to help his colleagues in the police department on issues of welfare of Constable ranking policemen and SPOs .

Swain said that he has been thinking of ways to support the Special Police Officers (SPOs) and constables, noting that they are not always financially well-off.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"I am intending to assist my fellow policemen at the bottom of the hierarchy in accessing quality education and health care even after leaving my position."

He said that in his post-retirement plans, he wants to educate students at the school level. I want to help the police department in its efforts to provide succour because I will have time," he said, sharing his hope to remain involved in both education and health requirements of the police force in an informal capacity.


It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve the country and people of Jammu & Kashmir. I pray that the coming years will be blessed with peace and prosperity for all, he added.(KNS)
