Srinagar, Mar 03 (KNS): Kashmir Centre for Social and Developmental Studies (KCSDS) has dismissed the recent report of Ministry of Home Affairs on Jammu and Kashmir, terming it as “authoritarian declaration.”
“KCSDS dismiss MHA report with disdain it deserves for once again giving a recipe to its agencies for manipulating human beings like cattle class, for managing perceptions as a conscious deceitful effort of confusing and confounding citizens with obfuscation and clever manipulation to keep them in line and awarding those who presided over death and devastation in the recent revolt,” KCSDS spokesperson said in a statement issued to KNS.
“What is new in this report is an open unashamed and blatantly authoritarian declaration of using various forms of force, dividing the monolithic narrative of Kashmir into various groups like Shias and Bakerwallas by offering them economic incentives to rope them in and using Molvis of Masjids to quell insurgency as if it were an epidemic of malaria and not a struggle for legitimate rights. MHA will be surprised to know that 2016 made people fearless of your force and united all sections asnever before,” he added.
“All the past efforts of government to intensify divisions within the community went down the drain. Besides, traditional molvis and imams have never been given any political role in masjids. The political speeches are given by political activists and molvis will never be heard against political aspirations. They would never dare to dissuade people from their political cause. Army has used some of them before also by taking them for all India tours to train them for this job. But to their utter dismay they joined public movement in the recent revolt as it finds resonance in their hearts.” he added. (KNS)
