“Public Issues Deserve Sincere and Urgent Attention”: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar May 16 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today met several public delegations and individuals at his Raabita Office in Srinagar, listening to their grievances and concerns.

Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, was also present during the outreach programme, which saw participation from diverse sectors.

A delegation from Saderkoot Payeen, Ajas Bandipora, sought early disbursement of compensation for Wular land dwellers affected by development works. Another group urged the immediate release of withheld recommendations for Class IV government posts.

Junior Anesthesia Assistants from the Health & Medical Education Department requested finalization of their pending selection list, while Professor Fayaz Ahmad Nika from Central University of Kashmir shared key findings from a study on women’s empowerment initiatives in Ganderbal.

Other delegations included the Sangarmal Traders Welfare Association, kerosene oil dealers, mechanical engineering graduates, and the Tempo Travelers Association, who requested a temporary waiver on vehicle EMIs due to financial strain.

Notably, Ms. Khair-ul-Nisa, Principal Advisor to the World Trade Center Association, proposed investment opportunities in J\&K, including establishing a World Trade Center in the region.

Academicians Prof. Hanief and Prof. Talat discussed the need for NAAC accreditation for Islamia College and sought government support.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah gave a patient hearing to all delegations and assured them of sympathetic consideration of their demands.
