Srinagar, Sept 19 (KNS): A 5-member delegation of Islamic Organisations of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday called upon Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to discuss several issues including arrest of several religious clerics and existing issues of fruit industry.
Bashir Ahmad one of the delegation member after meeting LG, while speaking to reporters said that they discussed the recent arrests of religious clerics in Kashmir, "we have pleaded with the LG Minoj sinha that they should be released very soon. The people of Kashmir are worried about these arrests for the past few days," he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Ahmad futher said that they have raised many issues including the problems faced by the fruit growers before the LG and got a postive response from him. The LG further assured that the arrested clerics will be released very soon, he said.
This is noteworthy that at least eight religious preachers, including three prominent Islamic scholars, have been arrested in the Kashmir Valley in the past few days. (KNS)
