5-Member Team Formed to Investigate Jaundice Outbreak in Anantnag Village

Srinagar, Jan 28 (KNS): In response to a jaundice outbreak in Gotligund village, where 27 individuals, primarily children, have tested positive, the Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag has established a five-member investigation team. 


According to an official order obtained , the team has been tasked with identifying the potential source of the outbreak and recommending preventive and control measures. The team has been instructed to visit the affected village, provide necessary healthcare interventions, and submit an action plan to the Principal of GMC Anantnag by the end of this month.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The team will be led by Dr. Mahbooba Rasool, Associate Professor of Community Medicine at GMC Srinagar. Other members include Dr. Abiroo Jan, Associate Professor of Microbiology; Dr. Irfan Gul, Associate Professor of General Medicine; Dr. Asif Aziz, Consultant Pediatrics; and Aijaz Ahmad, Health Educator at UHTC Brakpora. 

The investigation aims to address the outbreak and implement measures to prevent further spread of the disease. — (KNS)
