ACB investigates smart City officers over disproportionate assets and fiinancial irregularities

Srinagar, Jan 10 (KNS):A high-profile corruption scandal has rocked the Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) launching an investigation into two senior officials accused of amassing disproportionate wealth through dubious means.  


Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ACB Waheed Ahmad Shah, in a press conference held in Jammu and virtually in Srinagar, confirmed the probe against Executive Engineer Zahoor Ahmed Dar and Chief Financial Officer Sajid Yousuf Bhat. Multiple complaints had flagged their extravagant lifestyles, raising suspicion about their sources of income.  

According to officials, Bhat allegedly owns a commercial property in Ram Bagh, Srinagar, with a significantly higher market value than what was officially recorded.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelInvestigators also found multiple bank accounts linked to him, with suspicious transactions hinting at financial misconduct.  

Dar, on the other hand, was found to own a multi-storey house in Ghalib Abad, Shalteng, and a luxury sedan. Authorities are also scrutinizing large sums in fixed deposits allegedly linked to him.  

SSP Shah stated that search operations are underway at various properties linked to the accused, with financial records being examined. He assured that strict action would follow if further evidence corroborates the corruption charges. (KNS)
