Aga Mujtaba condemns defamatory campaign against Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami

Srinagar, Jam 19(KNS): Religious scholar Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi on Sunday condemned what he described as a defamatory campaign and use of derogatory language against religious preacher and social reformer Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami.

In a statement issued here to KNS, Aga Mujtaba said that Maulana Hami is a religious figure who has been engaged in religious outreach, social reform, and educational activities, often under challenging circumstances. He said attempts to target him through personal allegations and abusive language were “regrettable” and raised concerns about declining standards of public discourse.

Aga Mujtaba said that character assassination and personal vilification of religious and political figures, particularly on social media platforms, had become increasingly common in recent times. He said such practices were contributing to mistrust and social discord.

He also expressed concern over challenges facing society, particularly the impact of drug abuse and excessive social media use on the younger generation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said failure to address these issues collectively could have long-term consequences for social and moral well-being.

The cleric appealed to political, religious, social, and media circles, as well as social media users, to use their platforms responsibly. He urged them to promote social reform and awareness rather than engage in personal attacks or spread hostility.

Aga Mujtaba said that while differences of opinion were a natural part of democratic societies, criticism should remain issue-based and constructive. He stressed that disagreement should not lead to personal abuse or defamatory remarks.

He expressed solidarity with Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami and said it was the responsibility of society to discourage practices that undermine trust and social cohesion. He called for collective efforts aimed at public welfare and the future of coming generations.(KNS).
