Budgam Dec 04 (KNS): In a major step towards fighting drug abuse in District Budgam, His Excellency Hujjat-ul-Islam Aga Syed Hadi, President of Anjuman Sharie Shiyaan, Shariat Abad Budgam, has adopted the CHAARAH SAAZ Drug De-Addiction, Rehabilitation & Reintegration Centre. He has also contributed an initial amount of Rs 3,00,000 to support its functioning and expand its services. This move comes at a crucial time when Budgam’s 544 villages are witnessing a rise in substance abuse, affecting young people and families across the district.
Aga Syed Hadi’s support is being seen as an important community-driven initiative to strengthen rehabilitation efforts under the guidance of CEEOIndia. His involvement marks the beginning of a broader movement aimed at reducing drug dependency and offering help to individuals and families affected by addiction.
During his visit to the centre, Aga Syed Hadi said he was pleased to support this social welfare effort. He stressed that protecting the youth is both a spiritual and social responsibility. Urging religious institutions, community elders, masjid committees, philanthropists, and citizens to join hands with CEEOIndia, he called for a collective push to make Budgam drug-free.
Aga Syed Hadi also expressed gratitude to the institutions whose cooperation made the establishment of the CHAARAH SAAZ Centre possible. He also appreciated the District Social Welfare Office Budgam for technical support, documentation assistance, and coordination throughout the set-up process.
The adoption of the centre and the financial support of Rs 3 lakh signals the beginning of a community-led rehabilitation movement. It brings together government departments, religious and social leaders, community institutions, volunteers, civil society groups, and CEEOIndia’s field teams. With this collective effort, the CHAARAH SAAZ Centre will expand its services across all 544 villages of Budgam, focusing on detoxification, counselling, family support, awareness campaigns, and reintegration programmes.
