Srinagar, June 25(KNS): The Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire that engulfed the Bohri Kadal area of Srinagar, causing extensive damage to the historic Bazar Masjid, two shopping complexes, and over ten residential houses.

Firdous Baba, AIP's spokesperson in a statement highlighted the party's grief and urged authorities to ensure proper rehabilitation and compensation for those affected by the blaze.

"We urge the authorities to ensure immediate and adequate rehabilitation and compensation for all those affected by this incident," Baba stated.

"We call upon the authorities to implement robust safety mechanisms across all religious places and heritage sites in the region to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future," he added.

The party in statement said that it stands in solidarity with the victims and will continue to advocate for measures that ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.(KNS).
