Altaf Zargar Elected President, Prince Lone General Secretary of Handwara Chemists & Distributors Association

Handwara, April 21 (KNS): The Chemists and Distributors Association Handwara elected a new executive body on Monday, with Altaf Ahmad Zargar elected as President and Prince Abdul Rehman Lone as General Secretary.

The elections saw enthusiastic participation, with 88 out of 89 registered members casting their votes in a peaceful and transparent process.

In the presidential race, Altaf Ahmad Zargar secured 48 votes to clinch the top post, defeating Mushtaq Ahmad, who received 27 votes, and Ghulam Ahmad, who secured 12 votes.

For the position of General Secretary, Prince Abdul Rehman Lone emerged victorious with 44 votes. His contenders, Hilal Ahmad and Mohammad Ashraf, received 26 and 17 votes respectively.

“I will put in my best efforts to take up the genuine issues of the people and ensure smooth coordination between the chemist community and the administration,” Zargar said.

Newly elected General Secretary Prince Abdul Rehman Lone also extended his thanks to the members and assured them of his commitment to unity and progress within the association.

The results were warmly welcomed by the members, who expressed confidence that the new leadership will bring about positive changes and further strengthen the chemist community in the region.(KNS)
