Amit Shah concludes Kashmir visit, returns to Delhi

Srinagar, May 17 (KNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday concluded his visit to Kashmir Valley during which he interacted with several delegations, including those from the BJP and others, officials said.

Officials said that Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar on Thursday evening and left for New Delhi today morning.

During his visit to Srinagar, the Home Minister met several delegations including Sikhs, Paharis, Gujjars, civil society members and others.

Earlier, it was reported that Shah will chair a security meet to review arrangements for the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra, however, due to Model Code of Conduct in place the meeting was not held.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Amit Shah's visit to Srinagar came at a time when Lok Sabha polls are bein held across the country, however, the BJP has not fielded any candidate for three seats in the Kashmir Valley.

BJP's Kashmir incharge Sunil Sharma yesterday told reporters that the home minister's visit to Kashmir was not political.

Meanwhile, officials said that Shah met a BJP delegation before leaving for Delhi today morning. (KNS)
