Bandipora, Aug 4 (KNS): The 67th Urs Mubarak of Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah popularly known as Nanga Baji Sahib started from today in Malangam Bandipora Kashmir.

The Seven -day annual Urs of Hazrat Sayed Ghulam Rasool Shah (RA) popularly known as Nanga Baji Sahib (RA) will start from today in Malangam Village at his residence, in district Bandipora.

The Urs Mubarak of Janab Nanga Baji Sahib (RA) is celebrated annually at the residence of his grandson. On the first day of Urs Mubarak, recitation of the holy Quran, prayers and Naat have been held. This Urs is celebrated in memory of late sufi Saint Nanga Baji who has been a pious and spiritual personality. His resting place located at Malangam Bandipora is thronged by thousands of people from across the state. The 07 day Urs celebrations will be conducted by his grandson Syed Wilayat Hussain.

The Late Sufi Saint Hazrat Nanga Baji sab (RA) was a pious and spiritual personality who originally hailed from Village Malangam of Bandipora district in Kashmir. His tomb is thronged by thousands of people from all over the country during the Urs Mubarak every year from 4th Aug to 10th of August. (KNS)
