Army Provides Financial Assistance to Family of Deceased Civil Defence Worker in Tangdhar Sector

Karnah,(KNS)// In a touching gesture of solidarity and support, the Indian Army has extended its heartfelt condolences and financial assistance to the family of Late Mohd Maqsood Sheikh, a dedicated civil defence worker and porter who tragically lost his life while on duty in the Tangdhar region of Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir.

Mohd Maqsood Sheikh was employed as an Army Casual porter and was stationed at a forward post. On January 23, 2024, while performing his duties, he was caught under a deluge of loose earth and a broken tree trunk. Despite being swiftly recovered and transported to a medical facility, Sheikh succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead.

In recognition of Mohd Maqsood Sheikh invaluable contributions and steadfast service, the Indian Army provided a financial assistance of RS, 1173525 to his grieving family. This initiative underscores the Army's commitment to the welfare of those who serve alongside its personnel, ensuring that their families are supported during such difficult times.

As per Kashmir News Service(KNS), Colonel Prashanth Bhat, Commanding Officer of 34 (Maratha) Fd Regt (CASSINO-II), presented the financial assistance to Mohd Maqsood Sheikh's family in a solemn ceremony held at the Youth Centre in Tangdhar Army Camp.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe expressed deep sympathy for their loss and assured the family of the Army's continued support.
