Sopore, March 30 (KNS): The Office of the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sopore has issued an order prohibiting the sale, purchase, and use of firecrackers within the sub-district. The decision has been taken in view of increasing concerns over environmental pollution, public safety, and health hazards caused by firecracker use.
Exercising powers under Section 163 of BNSS 2023, the ADM has strictly banned all types of firecrackers and similar items in the region. Any violation of this directive will result in fines and confiscation of firecrackers, as per relevant laws.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Additionally, the order prohibits the use of loudspeakers by vendors, particularly near religious institutions, hospitals, government offices, and congested market areas.
The enforcement of the order has been entrusted to Tehsildars and their police counterparts, who will conduct regular inspections and awareness campaigns to ensure compliance, it added.
The ban will remain in effect for two months from the date of issuance or until further orders, it reads.(KNS)
