Bandipora, Sep 10 (KNS): As part of its continued public outreach initiatives to strengthen police-public relations and address issues of public importance, Bandipora Police today organised Thana Diwas at all police stations in the district.

The main function at PS Pethkote was chaired by SSP Bandipora Ajaz Ahmad Zargar-JKPS, in the presence of the SHO Police Station Pethkote and other police officers.

The programme at Pethkote witnessed participation of respectable citizens, civil society members and representatives of various sections of the community, including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federation, Transporters and other local stakeholders.

During the interaction, participants highlighted various issues of public importance and apprised the SSP Bandipora and other officers about their concerns and grievances.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAll the issues raised were heard patiently and segregated according to their nature, area of action and jurisdiction. The participants were assured that genuine grievances pertaining to the Police Department would be addressed on priority, while matters falling within the domain of the Civil Administration would be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.

The SSP Bandipora also sought the active cooperation of the public in combating drug abuse, social crimes and other social evils.

Thana Diwas functions were also held at other Police Stations across the district, where the programmes were chaired by the respective supervisory and jurisdictional police officers.(KNS)
