Tangmarg Dec 18: (KNS) Panic gripped the residents of Chandil Wanigam village in the  area of Tangmarg after a black bear strayed into the outskirts of village on Wednesday morning. The wild animal, which had been spotted near residential areas, prompted immediate calls for intervention from the Wildlife Department.

According to locals, the bear was first seen near the outskirts of the village, causing fear among residents, especially women and children. "We were terrified as the bear came very close to our homes," said a villager.

Acting swiftly, a team from the Wildlife Department arrived on the scene and successfully captured the animal after a careful operation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelOfficials confirmed that the bear was tranquillized and safely relocated to a forested area away from human habitation.

A wildlife official stated, "With the onset of winter, wild animals, particularly bears, often wander into human settlements in search of food. We urge residents to remain cautious and report such sightings immediately."

The Wildlife Department assured the public that efforts are being made to track animal movements and respond promptly to any such emergencies.(KNS)
