Bandipora, Sept 10 (KNS): A 13-year-old boy drowned in Madumati Nallah in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday while trying to retrieve a ball, officials said.

The boy, identified as Momin Ahmad Ganaie, a resident of Ganaie Mohalla in Kaloosa.

According to officials, Ganaie slipped into the stream near Kaloosa Bridge while attempting to retrieve the ball and drowned.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched by teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, officials said.

Efforts are underway to trace and recover the boy, they said.
