Brown sugar haul recovered in J-K's Pulwama, two in police net

Srinagar, Dec 1 (KNS):  Pulwama Police on Monday said that it arrested two drug peddlers and recovered over 1 kg of a brown sugar–like substance during a naka checking operation in the Rahmoo area of the district, officials said.


A police party from PP Rahmoo intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle (JK09D-7662) at Rahmoo Bridge after noticing suspicious movement and detained its two occupants, they told the Kashmir News Service (KNS).

The accused have been identified as Muneer Ahmed Shiek, son of Abdul Hameed Shiek, and Toufeeq Ahmed Shiek, son of Mohammad Rafiq Shiek, both residents of Hajitra Karna, according to police.

During the search of the vehicle, 1 kg 130 grams of a brown sugar–like substance was recovered, officials said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe vehicle was also seized.

Police said a case under FIR No. 124/2025 has been registered at Police Station Rajpora under Sections 8, 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain, including source and intended receivers of the seized substance.

The police added that efforts are being intensified to identify individuals linked to the network and prevent the movement of narcotics in the district. 

Citizens have been urged to report drug-related information to the nearest police station.(KNS).
