Chandaji Residents Appealed for Urgent Intervention After Landslides Block Road

Bandipora, August 20 (KNS): Residents of Chandaji village in Bandipora district of North Kashmir are facing significant distress following a landslide that has blocked the main road, cutting off access to the area.

The landslides, which occurred in two places on the road, were triggered by a cloudburst on August 15 after heavy rainfall last week closed the road led to the village.

Speaking with the media, one of the local resident expressed their deep concern over the situation. Despite the severity of the situation, they reported that, as of five days after the incident, no officials from the local administration had visited the affected area to assess the damage or provide assistance.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The residents appealed higher authorities to intervene and address their legitimate grievances. The are requesting that immediate steps be taken to clear the blocked road and restore normalcy in the area.

The residents are hopeful that their pleas will be heard and that the administration will act swiftly to resolve this matter, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.

Meanwhile when contacted the Executive Engineer PMGSY Bandipora, he informed that they were preoccupied withthe election process, but assured that the team with the necessary machinery will be send to clear the road tomorrow.(KNS)
