Congress targets booth-level revival in J-K under new campaign

Jammu, Dec 1 (KNS): Senior Indian National Congress (INC) leader Ajay Kumar Lallu on Monday said the party has launched an extensive grassroots programme under the “Sanghthan Shrijan Abhiyan” to strengthen its organisational structure and reconnect with voters across the country.

Addressing a press briefing at the Congress headquarters in Jammu, Lallu, who is AICC in-charge for Odisha and former Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president, said the nationwide campaign is aimed at building a stronger connect with people at booth and village levels.

“Today’s press briefing is about the Sanghthan Shrijan Abhiyan initiative—how to strengthen the party at the grassroots level,” he said, adding that the Congress is focusing on sustained, people-centric engagement to address organisational gaps.

Lallu, also a member of the Congress Working Committee, said the campaign has so far covered 10 states, with senior AICC and CWC leaders given charge of implementation and monitoring.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He said the programme holds particular significance for politically sensitive regions such as Jammu and Kashmir, where the party is seeking to deepen outreach amid the changed political dynamics following the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.

“We have started a campaign to connect with the people of Jammu and Kashmir at the grassroots level. Till now 10 states have been covered under this campaign. The responsibility has been given to senior AICC and CWC members,” Lallu said.

The briefing came as political parties have been voicing concerns over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in the Union Territory.(KNS).
