Handwara, Oct 14 (KNS): Consumers in Mawer, Handwara, have raised concerns over the alleged overpricing of domestic gas cylinders by local gas agencies. They have called for strict action against the agencies involved in selling cylinders at inflated rates.
According to several consumers who spoke to Kashmir News Service, gas cylinders are being sold at ?950, while receipts are being issued for ?930. Consumers further alleged that prices vary across different areas, with cylinders being sold at ?944 in some places and ?950 in others. They have demanded immediate action against the operators involved in this irregular pricing.
When contacted, Assistant Director of Food Civil Supplies Kupwara said that those charging extra will face strict action, adding that the matter will be thoroughly investigated, and steps will be taken against those found guilty.(KNS)
