Sumbal, June 28 (KNS) : The Director, Urban Local Bodies (ULB), Kashmir, on saturday conducted an official visit to Sumbal to review the functioning of the Municipal Committee Sumbal and inspect the Solid Waste Management (SWM) facility.

During the visit, the Director conducted a comprehensive review of municipal operations, including sanitation, waste collection, and public service delivery. Particular emphasis was placed on the working and upkeep of the Solid Waste Management facility. The Director stressed the importance of efficient door-to-door collection, scientific waste segregation, and timely disposal.

The Director also visited the Shadipora Transit Camp, a key location for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 (SANJY-2025).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe reviewed the civic arrangements being put in place for the convenience of Yatris, including sanitation, water supply, lighting, temporary shelter, and waste disposal systems.

He directed the concerned officers to ensure round-the-clock cleanliness and hygiene at the camp and instructed for deployment of sufficient manpower and resources during the Yatra period.

The visit concluded with a brief interaction with the field staff, during which the Director appreciated the efforts of the Municipal Committee and emphasised the need for enhanced coordination and community engagement for better urban management and successful conduct of SANJY-2025.(KNS)
