Srinagar Oct 04 (KNS): Democratic Progressive Azad Party on Saturday strongly condemned the order of Jammu and Kashmir administration in which the employees were desisted from participating and organizing peaceful protests to press for their demands. The party chief spokesperson Salman Nizami said that the order is speaking volumes about the insensitivity of administration which attempts to muzzle the voices of dissent and sabotage the democratic process.
“The diktat from the LG office to warn government employees against organizing and participating in peaceful protests for their genuine demands lacks the credibility and legitimacy,” he said. He said no democratic set up can ever encourage such diktats and LG administration must revoke the order. Nizami said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir shall have its own elected government which can take decisions for the welfare of people.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said the prevailing administrative arrangements can no longer be accepted and democracies always grow with the direct participation of people. He said if the government is serious and wants no employee shall be on roads, it must put the system in place that should address all the genuine demands of employees. “Why would employees come on roads, if their demands are met. It is the system that forces them to hit the streets or go on strike,” the spokesman said. He said hundreds of employees have cases of gratuity, pension and other issue pending in the concerned departments. If those cases would have been resolved, no one would have been on streets. It is the insensitivity of government not the choice of employees to come on roads,” he said.(KNS)
