Srinagar, Mar 29 (KNS):The WAQF Board has announced a salary hike for its employees, aiming to improve their financial well-being and address long-standing disparities.
Addressing a press conference here Chairperson WAQF board Dr. Daraksha Andrabi, said the board has implemented a revised pay structure that benefits various categories of employees.
Dr. Andrabi stated that the salary structure has been categorized based on skill levels. Skilled employees will now receive Rs 18,000 per month, while semi-skilled employees will get Rs 16,000 per month. Unskilled employees will be paid Rs 15,000 per month.
Regular employees working in the Shrine Space and Central Office will benefit from a 20% hike on their basic pay. Similarly, pensioners and family pensioners have also been granted a 20% increase on their basic pay. Teaching faculty of P.B. Halima College will receive a 15% hike, while Imam-o-Khadeeb, Naib-e-Imam, and Mauzins have been awarded a 20% increase.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Further, administrators appointed in different Dargahs have been given a monthly allowance of Rs 2,000, she added.
“This is a historic decision. Our employees have been underpaid for 20 years. Now, they can celebrate with their families, educate their children, and secure better futures.” She emphasized that this decision is a step towards rectifying the long-standing injustices faced by WAQF Board employees, many of whom had been earning as little as Rs 4,000-5,000 per month. She expressed hope that the salary revision would enable employees to celebrate Eid with dignity, provide quality education for their children, and ensure a better standard of living.
