DySP Khurshid Ahmad Among 20 Officers Promoted to SP Grade

Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNS) : Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Khurshid Ahmad is among twenty officers promoted to the Superintendent of Police (SP) selection grade.
 
The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned the placement of Deputy Superintendents of Police (General Cadre) into the Selection Grade (Level 10A: ?56,600–1,79,800) of the Pay Matrix.
 
The approval was granted under Government Order No. 19-Home of 2026, dated January 12, 2026, following recommendations from the Home Department’s Selection Committee. A copy of the order is in possession of the news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).
 
According to the order, a total of twenty DySPs have been placed in the Selection Grade, effective from the dates specified for each officer.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe promotion benefits also apply in cases where officers have since retired, with effect from their respective effective dates up to their date of retirement.
 
The order, issued with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor, has been circulated to all concerned departments for compliance.
 
The list of promoted officers includes Rakesh Kumar, Mohd. Younis, Mohd. Amin Malik, Bupinder Singh, Bharat Sharma, Naseem Akram, Shivam Jaggi, Syed Afaq Ahmed, Umer Urfan, Khurshid Ahmad, Hamidullah Naik, Gazanfer Syeed Lone, Kuldeep Raj, Ravinder Singh, Rishi Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Mahesh Sharma, Nissar Ahmed Ganie, Vijay Singh, and Neeraj Sharma.
 
The government order stipulates that these promotions are subject to the outcome of any related writ petitions pending before competent courts. (KNS)
