Bandipora, Nov 22 (KNS): Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Ajaz Zargar on Saturday said that fighting the rising drug menace has become the district police’s top priority, warning that the growing addiction is inflicting deep harm on local youth.
Calling the crisis “a serious threat that demands immediate and collective attention”, the SSP said the police cannot tackle the challenge alone. “Without the public’s help, it is impossible to fully address this problem,” he said.
Zargar said that drug abuse can strike “any family, any household”, urging parents to stay vigilant, monitor behavioural changes in their children, and not hesitate to seek help. “Anyone’s child can fall into this trap. We must work together if we want to eliminate this menace,” he added.
The SSP said he recently held detailed interactions with civil society groups, market associations, transporters and local committees to assess the ground situation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBased on these meetings, he said the police will frame a joint action plan with community representatives to strengthen surveillance, curb trafficking, and support preventive measures.
