Forest Department organizes Training on Forestry Services in North Kashmir

Srinagar April 11 (KNS): In line with the Jammu & Kashmir Forest Department’s objective of Training and Capacity Building, a one day workshop titled “Strategies and Approaches for Qualifying Indian Forest Examination” was organized by the Kashmir North Circle in collaboration with the Planning & publicity Division, Srinagar. The workshop was held at the Conference Hall of the North Forest Headquarters at Mazbugh Sopore.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from civil services aspirants from Baramulla, Kupwara, Ganderbal and Budgam districts.The event began with a welcome address by Danish Khan, Divisional Forest Officer, Planning & Publicity Division. In his opening remarks, the DFO emphasized that the workshop, as a part of the Forest Department’s Youth Connect initiative, aimed to guide aspiring candidates preparing for the prestigious Indian Forest Service Examination. 

The lead session was delivered by Ashish Bisnoi, who made a comprehensive presentation on the eligibility criteria, preparation strategies, and approaches to crack the Indian Forest Examination. Drawing from his own journey and experience, he shared valuable insights on time management, optional subject selection, and maintaining consistency in preparation. His session was followed by an interactive discussion, where participants actively raised  their doubts and queries, which were thoroughly addressed and clarified during the session.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The concluding address was delivered by Irfan Ali Shah, Conservator of Forests, Kashmir North Circle. He spoke at length about the immense potential of local youth and the significance of increasing awareness about the Indian Forest Service. He encouraged aspirants to pursue careers in the green sector with passion, commitment, and integrity.

Shah underscored the department’s need for young, dynamic officers especially from local communities for ensuring good governance and a sustainable future. He mentioned that this is the first initiative of its kind in the region and assured that more such programmes will be organized in collaboration with NGOs, educational institutions, and other stakeholders in both Kupwara and Baramulla Districts. “We are committed to supporting the aspirations of young boys and girls of both Kupwara and Baramulla and contributing to their success,” Shah added.

The workshop concluded with vote of thanks by Danish Khan, DFO Planning & Publicity Division. The initiative was widely appreciated by civil society and local residents, who expressed hope that such programmes would not only inspire the youth towards prestigious civil services but also help steer them away from social evils. They expressed optimism that the Department would continue organizing such initiatives in the future as well.(KNS)
