Srinagar, Sep 19(KNS): The sudden and untimely passing of Mohd Shafi Pandit, IAS (Retd), has left the former All India Services Officers of the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir Cadre in deep shock.
In a heartfelt condolence message addressed to Nighat Shafi Pandit, the officers expressed their grief and sorrow over the loss of their esteemed colleague.
The message emphasized Pandit's dedication to his principles, describing him as a brilliant officer whose charm, intelligence, patience, and empathy made a lasting impact on everyone who interacted with him.
His contributions to governance, including his role in pioneering the "single-line administration" that promoted decentralized and faster development of remote and hilly areas of Jammu & Kashmir, were particularly praised. His tenure as the Chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) also received special recognition.
Pandit was remembered not only for his professional competence but also for his active role in civil society, where he emerged as a leading voice. His devotion to public causes, supported by his wife Nighat Shafi Pandit, left a lasting mark on the community. The civil society of Jammu & Kashmir will sorely miss his leadership.
The officers noted Shri Pandit's helping nature and gentlemanly demeanor, which earned him widespread respect and admiration. His passing, they said, is a great loss to society and has created a deep void in the All India Services family.
The message concluded with prayers for the Almighty to give strength to Mrs. Nighat Shafi Pandit and her family in bearing this irreparable loss, and for the departed soul to rest in peace.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
