Grand Mufti Seeks Action Against Man Claiming to Be Sheikh Noor-ud-Din (RA), Calls for his Mental Health Evaluation

Baramulla, Feb 6 (KNS)  Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir-ul-Islam, has written to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, urging immediate action against a man from Waripora Kunzer who has allegedly been impersonating the revered Sufi saint, Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA), and has constructed a replica of the Kaaba at his residence.


In his letter in possession of KNS, the Grand Mufti described the individual as a "fake peer" who is misleading the public. He also cited concerns about the man's mental health, stating that he is reportedly suffering from bipolar disorder, which could be influencing his behavior.

The controversy gained traction after a video of the man interacting with the replica surfaced on social media, sparking mixed reactions. Police have already taken the individual into custody for assessment, and officials have assured that the situation is being handled with due diligence. (KNS)
