Hassan Mir demands immediate restoration of electricity in Beerwah

Beerwah, Jan 1 (KNS) : Senior Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), Ghulam Hassan Mir, on Thursday raised concerns over the mass disconnection of electricity in four Beerwah villages — Palapora, Allah Pora, Larkipora, and Mustafa Colony.

Mir said, “I strongly condemn the disconnection of power supply in these villages, which has left residents, including children and elderly, struggling during the harsh winter nights. It is unjust that the entire community is being penalised for the non-payment of bills by a few consumers. Essential services like electricity should never be denied to law-abiding citizens," he said.

"I urge the concerned authorities to immediately restore electricity in all affected areas and review the policy of mass disconnections.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSteps should be taken to ensure that only defaulters are targeted, without causing inconvenience to regular payers," he said.

He added that the administration must also improve communication with residents and provide prior notice before taking such measures.

"Electricity is not a luxury; it is a necessity, especially during winter when the vulnerable sections of society are at risk. The authorities must act swiftly and responsibly to prevent any further hardship to families in Palapora, Allah Pora, Larkipora, and Mustafa Colony. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and ensure that residents’ basic rights are protected.”(KNS).
