JAMMU, March 9 (KNS): Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan is arriving in Jammu today for a high-level security review with top police and security officials of Jammu and Kashmir. This will be his first security assessment in the Jammu region since taking charge, following his earlier visit to Kashmir.
The meeting, scheduled at the Jammu Convention Centre, will last over three hours and include senior officials from paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, and the Ministry of Home Affairs overseeing J&K. SSPs of various districts are also expected to participate in one of the sessions.
Ahead of the review, BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary visited the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch on Saturday for an operational briefing. He will be among the key officials joining today’s discussions, along with heads of CRPF, IB, and other agencies.

Despite expectations of eliminating terrorists during winter, intelligence suggests they remain active in small groups and could strike soft targets. The meeting will focus on flushing them out from difficult terrains and strengthening counter-terror measures.
This year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already chaired four high-level security reviews on December 19, February 4, 5, and 11. The Home Secretary’s visit today marks his second security assessment in J&K, following his review in Kashmir on December 30. (KNS)
