Srinagar, November 8 (KNS)Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdhi, announced on Friday that the Srinagar police have "solved the recent grenade attack at the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC)" in which 12 civilians were injured, adding that three suspects have been apprehended and "booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA)."
The attack took place on November 3, with Birdhi noting that the grenade blast "left multiple victims, including Abida, a woman with young children, and Habibullah, the sole breadwinner for his family who cares for a bedridden son.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel" Both were seriously injured in the attack.
According to Birdhi, police teams "identified and apprehended three suspects—Usama Yasin Sheikh, Umar Fayaz Sheikh, and Afnan Ahmed," all Ikhrajpora residents, who are allegedly linked to the banned Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) group.
He added that the trio "carried out this act at the behest of Pakistan-based handlers." The case has been lodged at Srinagar's Kothibagh police station. (KNS)
