Bandipora, Sep 8 (KNS): National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Sunday said that the party has made immense sacrifices in the fight against militancy.
"If anyone has made sacrifices against militancy, it is the National Conference." Omar told reporters expressing sadness over the portrayal of the party's efforts by the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.
He further said that during his tenure as Chief Minister, the graph of militancy was consistently decreasing, but under the current administration, militancy has resurged across various districts, including Kathua, Jammu, and Rajouri.
On allegations made by the Home Minister that militancy would increase if the Congress-NC alliance comes to power, Omar said that the current government has given a new start to militancy in Jammu.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"If the Congress-NC government is formed, we will have to rectify this situation," he added.
Speaking on revocation of Article 370, Omar said that the decision was a result of a Supreme Court ruling, adding that they will keep the issue alive, just as the BJP had done for over two decades.
"We are not saying this will happen tomorrow or the day after, but it is our duty to keep this issue alive," he said.
He further said that the sacrifices made by the National Conference against militancy are immense. housands of our workers, senior colleagues, ministers, MLAs, and MLCs have been victims. Will I have to remind the Home Minister about this?".(KNS)
