 Srinagar, Oct 31 ( KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha said members have taken oath and affirmed their true faith and allegiance to the Constitution . “It’s a reality that J&K is a UT today, and when it becomes a state, we'll definitely celebrate Statehood Day,” he stated on X according to KNS correspondent.

He also reaffirmed the central government's commitment to restoring statehood at an appropriate time.

In his address, Sinha congratulated the people for their tireless efforts in building a secure and prosperous UT, describing the achievements of the past five years as a testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dedication to the people of J&K.

He noted that J&K now stands proudly on the national stage—tall, self-reliant, and full of self-confidence.

He emphasized that peace, stability, rule of law, and democratic values have transformed the region into an attractive investment destination, as reflected in the significant inflow of investments over the past four years.

The Lt. Governor also pointed out the remarkable turnaround of J&K Bank, which shifted from a loss of Rs. 1,139 crore in 2019-20 to a profit of Rs. 1,700 crore in FY 2023-24, with a profit of Rs. 991 crore reported in the current fiscal year.

Concluding his remarks, Sinha shared his vision for the future, stating, “My dream is to see that every family is prosperous. I envision faster development of infrastructure and industries, ensuring that the fruits of growth reach the last person in the queue.” (KNS)
