Srinagar, Apr 10 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has assigned look-after charge of Headmaster and equivalent posts to 269 Masters across the Union Territory. The move comes under Government Order No. 289-JK (Edu) of 2025, issued on April 10, 2025.
The decision is aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of schools until regular appointments are made through the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) or the Public Service Commission (PSC). These assignments are temporary and subject to specific conditions laid out by the department.
The order covers both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. In the Jammu division, over 200 postings have been made, including districts like Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, and Kathua. In the Kashmir division, over 60 Masters have been given charge, with key appointments in Baramulla, Kupwara, and Pulwama.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The postings are effective immediately. The selected Masters have been directed to report to their new places of posting within 10 days. Failing to do so will result in the automatic cancellation of their assignment.
The department has made it clear that these assignments are purely temporary and do not guarantee any right to permanent promotion. Officers must also submit undertakings confirming the genuineness of their academic and service documents. Any officer found using fake or forged documents will face cancellation of the assignment.
The order also specifies that these assignments are subject to legal scrutiny and adverse reports from competent authorities, which could lead to the revocation of the postings. (KNS)
