Ganderbal Oct 19 (KNS): On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Wasim Qadri-JKPS, under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Mohammad Ashraf-JKPS, today Ganderbal Police facilitated Police Public Meeting/Darbar at Police Station Kangan.
The Meeting/Darbar was conducted in the premises of PS Kangan chaired by SDPO Kangan Mohammad Ashraf-JKPS in which SHO Kangan Mehboob Hussain, other senior Police Officers & representatives from all walks of the community participated. After a brief introduction, both Police & Public shared their role, background and experience. The purpose of the meeting was to build a working relationship with the community representatives, discussing key safety issues, and setting up a framework for regular communication.
The main aim of the meeting was to aware public about the eminent role of the Police in the Community such as community Policing principles, crime prevention strategies, and Police plan to engage with the public, besides engaging in the issues like crime reduction, emergency response, and community programs.
During the meeting, Public representatives were asked to share their concerns related to local crime, safety, or any specific issues that need addressing (e.g, traffic, drugs, vandalism etc.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel). The concerns, views and opinions of the participants were listened patiently by the chairing officer and potential solutions were offered, besides follow up on key issues. It was also discussed that Police and Public can establish a smooth and congenial working atmosphere & relationships through regular meetings, joint projects etc.
The contact details viz. Phone numbers, Email id’s etc. were shared to the participants to reach out District Police Ganderbal for any kind of assistance or help at any time. The commitment to transparency, accountability, and partnership with the community was emphasized to the participants. Moreover, ill consequences of social menace like Drug Addiction, Gambling, theft, black marketing & hoarding were thoroughly discussed and participants were requested to refrain themselves from such menaces.
Finally, the participants in the meeting assured their full cooperation to District Police Ganderbal in tackling social evils. They also appreciated the efforts of J&K Police in facilitating community interaction/Darbar, where participants could express their notions and opinions freely. At the end, the interactive session concluded with vote of thanks from both the sides.(KNS)
