JKLCMA VC Manzoor Ahmad Qadri Conducts Extensive Inspection of Dal-Nigeen Lake Conservation Works

Srinagar, Oct 25 (KNS): Vice Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Lake Conservation and Management Authority (JKLCMA), Manzoor Ahmad Qadri (JKAS), accompanied by the Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer, Technical Officer to VC, and other senior officers of the Authority, on Saturday conducted an extensive inspection of Dal-Nigeen Lake, including its navigational channels and internal hamlets.

The visit provided an opportunity to closely evaluate the various conservation measures being implemented by the Authority to preserve and rejuvenate the lake ecosystem.

During the inspection, the Vice Chairman reviewed the deweeding operations and other conservation efforts, including houseboat connectivity enhancements, emphasizing that these interventions must maintain quality standards while ensuring modern-day usability of the lake.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Qadri directed that the acquired land around the lake be clearly demarcated and developed into eco-friendly recreational zones. He also laid special emphasis on controlling sewage inflow from nearby hamlets to safeguard the water quality of the lake. Furthermore, he instructed that cleaning of navigational channels be prioritized to ensure smooth and safe movement through the waterways.

The Vice Chairman said that such inspections reaffirm the Authority’s commitment to balancing heritage preservation, environmental conservation, and sustainable development, ensuring that Dal-Nigeen Lake continues to thrive as both an ecological treasure and a hub of responsible tourism.(KNS)
