Srinagar, Oct 22(KNS): The Chief Justice of J&K High Court, Justice Tashi Rabstan, along with the District and Sessions Judge, visited the construction site of the New Court Complex to review the progress of the work being carried out.
Upon arrival at the court complex, the Chief Justice was presented with a guard of honour. He also participated in a plantation drive at the District Court complex in Kulgam, planting Deodar saplings.
During the inspection, the Chief Justice noted the progress and quality of the work at the site. He stated that the new court complex in Kulgam is expected to meet the increasing demand for judicial services in the region and address the needs of the local population.
Once completed, the new court complex is expected to facilitate the resolution of disputes and the dispensation of justice efficiently, providing a supportive environment for legal proceedings.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In his address, the Chief Justice emphasized the role of the Judiciary in upholding the rule of law and ensuring access to justice for all. He highlighted the importance of the new court in extending legal services to remote areas, bridging the gap between the law and the people it serves.
The Chief Justice directed the officers of J&K Housing Board to include provisions for a Vulnerable Witness Deposition Complex within the new court building, and to establish a crèche on the ground floor with an attached washroom.
Later, the Chief Justice interacted with the lawyers and stressed the importance of the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism, particularly mediation and Lok Adalat. He encouraged the lawyers to pursue amicable settlements of cases through ADR.(KNS).
