Srinagar, Apr 29 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Member of Parliament from Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, on Tuesday strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam and stressed that justice must be served without causing harm to innocent civilians.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the attack, Aga Ruhullah said the Government of India must ensure that the guilty are brought to book but cautioned against any collateral damage during the investigation and crackdown. “The culprits, the terrorists, should be searched for and punished, but no innocent person should suffer in the process. Whether it's a labourer, a pony guide or a taxi driver—any harm to innocents defeats the entire idea of justice,” he said.
On the diplomatic response following the attack, the MP expressed support for the country's reaction. “We stand with justice, with that reaction. A voice should rise in the world for justice, and J&K and its people should get permanent relief from this violence,” Ruhullah stated.
He further emphasized that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been the primary victims of the ongoing cycle of violence. “We are the ones who suffer the most. Therefore, if ways are explored for peace—whether through diplomatic means or any other method—we support it. But it must lead to justice, a permanent solution, and lasting peace.” (KNS)
